San Francisco-based DoubleDutch, a provider of mobile event apps, announced today that it is opening a UK office in London’s Marble Arch neighbourhood. The London office will focus on serving and growing DoubleDutch’s large and expanding customer base in the UK, ensuring that DoubleDutch continues to provide its customers with the same personalised experience around the world.

“We are thrilled to announce the opening of our first UK office,” said Zubin Bhettay, VP International at DoubleDutch. “With offices in San Francisco, Amsterdam and Hong Kong, London was a clear and logical next step for us as DoubleDutch continues to develop globally. We see tremendous potential in the UK, which is establishing itself as a technology and commercial hub. We look forward to continued growth in this exciting and important market as our company and UK presence expands.”

The U.K. meetings and events industry is booming, generating £5.6 billion to the UK economy annually according to research by the MPI Foundation. And with technology playing an increasingly significant role in the event experience, DoubleDutch views this as a prime opportunity to work with marketing and event professionals to increase business and further strengthen the U.K. economy.

“I am delighted that DoubleDutch is expanding into the UK market through opening a new office in London,” said David Slater, Director of International Business Development at London & Partners, the Mayor’s promotional company for the capital, said. “As the digital hub for Europe, London’s tech sector is attracting leading companies from all around the world, including the US. With our pool of talent, attractive timezone, and access to market, an increasing number of companies – like DoubleDutch – are realising that to reach an international audience, London is the perfect place to be.”
