Wall to Wall Communications, one of the UK’s leading independent two-way radio equipment suppliers, is using the MCS-rm hire management solution from MCS Global Ltd to gain greater management control of its expanding hire business.

MCS-rm provided Wall to Wall Communications with a tried and tested packaged solution with a user-friendly Microsoft-based look and feel that could be cost-effectively tailored to its specific requirements. The company was, therefore, able to avoid the more expensive option of purchasing a bespoke system.

MCS-rm is now used by staff across Wall to Wall Communications: in sales, hire, administration, despatch, repairs and finance where the system integrates to the Sage accountancy package already in use. MCS-rm coordinates all the company’s contracts and associated administration, as well as maintaining a central database for all itemised equipment and tracking assets. Charlotte Rich notes: “Everything is now streamlined and run on a single system, which has the added benefit of reducing the cost of software support for Sage.”
She adds: “We’re an ISO 9001:2008 certified and quality controlled company, and having all staff using the same system and the same up-to-date documents and templates supports greater consistency, so following ISO procedures becomes an integral part of our working practices. As required for ISO compliance, we can trace everything for an order, from sales to despatch, with ease using the system.”
The customer relationship management (CRM) functionality within MCS-rm is proving useful in managing the company’s diverse customer base by providing a central location for all customer details and contacts. The full call history is stored and follow-up actions can be set on the system. Staff also use the CRM software to create quotes and manage opportunities with both prospects and existing clients.
