De Boer has supplied structures to one of the most prestigious golf tournaments on the European Senior Tour – the Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex.

The Brackley-based structure specialist supplied around 2,000 square metres of temporary accommodation incorporating the VIP sponsors’ viewing pavilion, media centre, public catering facilities and the merchandising pavilion at the famous Turnberry course in Scotland.

This year’s event, staged from July 26-29, was the eighth year De Boer has provided facilities for the Senior Open Championship and the second time at the Ayrshire course.

US star Fred Couples, the 1992 Masters Champion, taking part in his first Senior Open Championship won by two shots from fellow countryman Gary Hallberg.

De Boer has been a regular supplier of structures to the Senior Open events to complement its support of the mainstream European Tour and to Ryder Cup tournaments.

Later this year De Boer and the company’s Dubai-based partners Wicked Tents will supply temporary structures to one of the world’s most important golf tournaments, the DP World Tour Championship Dubai – the end of season finale to the European Tour.

Edward Kitson, Championship Director for the Senior Open Championship, said:  “The European Tour has a long and fruitful association with De Boer who have always provided excellent service and high quality structures to many of our international events.”

John Cochrane, De Boer’s Sales Director – Events, said: “We are delighted and very proud to be involved with The European Tour on this event, especially as more and more superstar golfers such as Fred Couples, this year’s winner, Corey Pavin and Bernard Langer have joined the ranks of the Seniors Tour.

“De Boer has vast experience of providing structures at many of the world’s leading tournaments and we are greatly looking forward to our role in the climax of the European Tour’s Race to Dubai in November.”
