Showman’s Show Review : 2011
With exhibition space selling out a couple of weeks before the doors opened on the 2011 Showman’s Show, hopes and anticipation for a successful event were high. With the mixture of familiar and new faces plus product launches, the atmosphere around the site was good and the mainly benevolent weather allowed exhibitors to showcase their products to their maximum potential.
Over 4,400 people came through the doors resulting in two busy days for the exhibitors. As always the standard of exhibit was outstanding. Several stands were acknowledged within the stand awards, judged this year by Jonny Sullens, Portfolio Director of UBM Live and James Drury, Managing Director of Festival Awards Ltd. The award for Best Exhibition Stand in the Show was hotly contested but was ultimately won by Specialist Structures, who with Natural Green and Creative Spaces by Design, produced an exhibit that was both artistic and contemporary in design.
As well as the excitement on the ground, the heavens above Newbury Showground were electrified when the Red Devils took to the skies and parachuted in on the first day, demonstrating that they are a perfect main arena attraction for any type of outdoor event. The Red Devils were not the only exciting new exhibit at this year’s Show; unusual displays included C6(n) Technology’s remarkable bright yellow pagoda marquee; Westlands steam locomotive BBQ that produced the most delicious barbecued pork; LoosRUs’ themed trailer toilets, which included the new Gypsy caravan this year and South West Events’ Mini Cooper Pimms bar.
New to the organising team this year, Johnny Lance had this to say: “The Show has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember but it is great to now be an official member of the organising team. The Show has always provided a stage for some extraordinary exhibits but I feel this year our exhibitors have surpassed themselves with their ingenuity and innovation. I am inspired by the people involved in this industry and look forward to what next year will bring and the year’s following that – it’s an exciting place to be!”
Lance Show & Publications Limited would like to thank all the exhibitors that supported The Showman’s Show this year and wishes them every success for the coming event season. The team looks forward to welcoming them back next year on Wednesday 17th & Thursday 188h October 2012. For more information please visit www.showmansshow.co.uk.
