New technology to relieve on-site crew management issues
The challenges posed by on-site crew accreditation are set to become a thing of the past, following the launch of the ‘Crew Management’ system by Etherlive, the event technology specialists.
Accreditation poses a complex logistical challenge and legal risk for any event with a large number of crew on site. Challenges range from establishing who has booked out equipment (and whether that individual is accredited to do so), to identifying who is entitled to crew catering.
Crew Management is a touch screen terminal based system which is used in conjunction with scanner equipment and contactless swipe cards, to enable event staff to checkout keys, radios, plant equipment and approve catering requests. From a single interface, site managers can administer the system and view logs showing system activity.
Tom McInerney, events director at Etherlive comments, “Large crews present challenges for organisers who need to log which individuals have rights to borrow plant equipment, use crew catering or borrow keys. Crew Management offers a straight-forward means of managing this, reducing legal risk and operational costs. It makes managing accreditation one less thing to worry about during the production of an event.”
The Crew Management system works in conjunction with Etherlive’s on site wireless network technologies which enable internet connectivity, phone services and other technology services.
