Wyboston LakesFurther significant enhancements to facilities at Wyboston Lakes have been completed. This means that in the first five months of the year, Wyboston Lakes – the UK’s largest privately owned single site training and conference venue – has completed a range of improvements involving an investment of £250,000.

The latest developments relate to the relaxation and leisure facilities on the venue’s 350 acre site between Cambridge and Bedford. Although they focus on its Waterfront Conference Centre and the surrounding areas, as improvements to leisure facilities they are also relevant to users of its other conference venues, the Robinson Executive Conference Centre and the Willows Training Centre.

Extensive enhancements have been made to the venue’s Waterfront Brasserie, a very popular relaxation and eating option for corporate overnight users. An investment of £75,000 has seen extensive enhancement of the Brasserie’s kitchen area, including a range of completely new appliances, and a new extraction system. The restaurant and bar areas have been re-decorated, with improvements to seating and new signage has been introduced, together with outside lighting to enhance views over the site’s south lake. The investment has also brought a new point of sale system, which ‘remembers’ regular users and their preferences.

After an investment of £110,000, a new 120 space car park has been opened outside the Waterfront Centre and its adjacent 18-hole golf course. The golf course itself has been enhanced, with a total of £25,000 spent on planting trees and enhancing tee areas. Golfing facilities at Wyboston Lakes include a floodlit driving range and on-site professional support.

As well as its golf facilities, Wyboston Lakes offers a comprehensive spectrum of other leisure facilities, including a health and leisure centre with an indoor swimming pool, sauna and a watersports centre. The venue also offers corporate bed-and-breakfast, which is increasingly popular with delegates for single day events who need overnight accommodation. Dinner is also available.

The latest enhancements follow the recent relaunch of the Paris Suite, one of the Waterfront Conference Centre’s main conference and banqueting suites, after a £40,000 programme of improvements.
