Showsec achieve record score with Security Industry Authority

showsec logoShowsec achieved a record rating in retaining its status as a member of the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) with the Security Industry Authority (SIA). Following rigorous fourth year checks, the company was awarded its highest ever score by the inspector, who praised all aspects of the company that fell under his scrutiny.

The SIA is an independent organisation that was set up by the government with the aim of providing an effective, fair and efficient regulation of the private security industry. To create a recognised hallmark of quality for companies looking to engage security providers, the SIA created the Approved Contractor Scheme. Showsec was one of the first to adopt the scheme upon its introduction, encouraging and driving the progression of standards across the wider industry.

The findings of their inspection acknowledged that the company’s considerable investments in training underpin the success of ongoing initiatives for improvement and allow them to achieve higher standards and levels of customer satisfaction.

Showsec’s training manager Roy Wise managed this process. He says: “Achieving a score over 100 puts us in the top percentile of the 650 companies in the ACS scheme. We’re very proud of that score and that Showsec has consistently supported and worked closely with the SIA in raising standards and supporting the ACS as a benchmark for best practice across the security industry. We always aim for best practice rather than achieving minimum required standards and this score reflects that.”
