The Main Event Scotland 2010The Main Event 2010, Scotland’s only event dedicated to corporate events, hospitality and entertainment, is back to showcase the finest of Scotland’s events suppliers at the SECC Glasgow on Thursday 11 March from 9:30am – 5:30pm.

Last year The Main Event attracted over 1,000 visitors when it opened its doors with the aim to show businesses how to make a success of their corporate dinners, conferences and parties. This year the free event is back with renowned entertainment and even more special guests, nearly 100 exhibitors, five must-see guest speaker sessions, four interactive zones and stages, all under one roof.

This year’s Main Event, organised by QD events, is targeted at anyone that deals with events or a businesses’ events programme, from sourcing venues and entertainment, to team building and merchandising – all is covered at the SECC this March. The aim is to get ideas and build the right connections with the best that Scotland has to offer over the course of the day – providing a truly one stop shop.

Throughout the day the MCL Theatre will be holding a variety of insightful talks from special guests including Scotland’s own ‘Dragon’ fresh from the Den, Shaf Rasul, and T in the Park founder, Geoff Ellis.  They will be sharing their knowledge with the audience, including entrepreneurial secrets from the self made millionaire and what it takes to stage some of the biggest music festivals in Scotland. John Shaw, director and co-founder of creative staff development agency ‘Theatre of Ideas’, will give a seminar on building staff morale at company events to encourage better performance.

The theatre sessions along with an array of other entertainment will be hosted by Forth One’s Grant Stott, who will interact with the guest speakers to ensure the sessions are as informative and fun as possible.

Scotland’s finest suppliers on show at The Main Event will include exhibitors in corporate venues and catering, event lighting services, production designers, entertainers, hospitality and events experts, corporate days and team building. A selection of companies exhibiting will include: Apex Hotels, En Croute Catering, Northern Light, Big Digital, Marriott Hotels, Sound & Vision and Mainsail Corporate Yachting Events.

Maire Douglas from The Main Event 2010 team said: “When organising an event the main barriers are often where to source information on venues, organisers, entertainment, transport and catering. The Main Event will answer all these questions for visitors and will show the best of what Scotland has to offer.”

The Main Event will also contain three interactive areas aimed to encourage networking and provide a restful break for visitors to the event.

These areas include:

The FMX Networking Zone – sponsored by sound, light and staging specialist FMX, the Networking Zone will showcase a state of the art backdrop to a busy networking area where you can chat among colleagues and friends.

The Pamper Zone – With so much to see and so many people to meet, you will need no excuse to have a pamper stop during your time at The Main Event. Glasgow-based, 15 Royal Terrace Day Spa will ensure that you leave refreshed after a mini treatment from their team of spa therapists.

Add to this The Specialized Bar, fully stocked for visitors to meet, greet and unwind – this is the perfect way to spend a business day!
