Firefly Solar named ‘Event Supplier of the Year’
Firefly Solar have been awarded ‘Supplier of the Year’ at the 2009 Event Awards, held at the prestigious Park Lane Hilton, London on September 25th.
The Event Awards is regarded as the event industry’s number one award ceremony, showcasing the best exhibitions, experiential campaigns and creative events. The panel of judges, hand-picked for their expertise, impartiality and respect within the industry deliberated all the categories, paying particular attention to entries that highlighted how they surpassed objectives in the briefs, while also providing concise testimonials and strong supporting material.
Each supplier in the category had to provide three examples of how their service had enhanced the quality of an event through innovation, level of service, impact on the feel of the event and the challenges they overcame.
Firefly chose The Age of Stupid Film premiere, Innocent Smoothie Village Fete and BBC’s Springwatch as their case studies. These events showcased the versatility of Firefly as a supplier and their ability to bring an educational element to events, enabling the public to learn about the possibilities of renewable power. The case studies also highlighted how Firefly helped to seriously reduce their clients carbon footprint; the Age of Stupid film premiere emitting a mere 1% of the usual carbon emissions seen at an average Hollywood premiere.
Firefly Solar has overcome the challenge of doubt and uncertainty which some clients initially raise regarding the reliability of solar power. The long proven track-record of success of Firefly’s services, coupled with consistent positive feedback from previous customers has helped solidify a trusting image of the company’s production capability.
After picking up the award MD, Andy Mead, said “We are extremely pleased to have received the recognition for our hard work over the past two years and are glad the events industry is welcoming new companies and embracing evolving technologies like ours”.
“My congratulations go out to all the evening’s winners and a huge thank you to all our clients, partners and supporters who have helped us build a great company from the ground up”.
Many of Firefly’s peers also collected awards on the night including Sledge who received the ‘Green Award’ and mentioned Firefly as a key supplier at their events such as Innocent Village Fete. Furthermore, Unity were winners of the ‘Green Event of the Year Award’ for the Age of Stupid Film Première which Firefly technically produced earlier this year.
