Vince Power plans new comedy festival
The promoter behind last year’s Mighty Boosh Festival has outlined his plans for similar future comedy-headlined events.
Vince Power, who also devised the Hop Farm Festival, told the London Lite that while it wouldn’t feature Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt again, he hoped to stage another comedy event at the Hop Farm site where last July’s event took place.
“I would love to do it, not necessarily with The Mighty Boosh again, but with major, major acts like Peter Kay and Eddie Izzard,” he explained.
The organiser added that unlike The Mighty Boosh’s event, there would be less music and would see the comedian “on a main stage with 25,000 people watching it. It shouldn’t be any different from rock ‘n’ roll. In my opinion it’s a good idea to have a big main-stage open-air festival”.
Last year The Mighty Boosh Festival saw the comedy troupe play a headline show at the bash, while other acts who performed on the day included The Charlatans, Peaches, Gary Numan and The Kills.
