Event organisers present £100 cheque

THE organisers of the annual plymouth prideevent have presented a local breast cancer care charity with a cheque for £100.

Dave O’Brien, the event’s treasurer, gave the cheque to staff from the Primrose Centre at Derriford Hospital.

The centre provides advice, diagnosis and treatment for breast-related diseases and is supported by the Primrose Foundation, which works to combat prejudice and discrimination.

Mr O’Brien said: “We share the same aims of encouraging tolerance and understanding of diversity in the community and so we were pleased to adopt the Primrose Foundation as one of the charities we supported during the past year.

“We could not put on our annual event without the support of the entertainers and we hope that our small donation on their behalf to the foundation will help them to continue with their important work.”
