Is it 3rd time lucky for Asia Pacific Film Festival?-Hong Kong

| December 2, 2008 | 0 Comments More

The recently postponed 52nd Asia Pacific Film Festival will now go ahead in Taipei sometime in 2009.
Decision was made this weekend at a Jakarta board meeting of the Federation of Motion Picture Producers in Asia Pacific (FPA).

This year’s edition of the fest was supposed to run Nov. 18-21 in the Indonesian capital, but was canceled due to poor attendance.

Last year’s Hong Kong edition was canceled because organizers failed to raise sufficient funds.

FPA and its flagship event have recently been overshadowed by the Queensland-based Asia Pacific Screen Awards, which count CNN Intl and Unesco as co-presenters.

However, the FPA intends to admit several Central Asian and Southeast Asian countries as new members to bolster its influence in the industry.
